State of the Union

A few days past the event, but did anyone watch it?  I did of course, being a past junkie for such kinds of information, having only really trailed off during the last bit of the Bush (W) part of there deliveries.  I found it interesting but came away with a general sense of dismay.  As all are away I did not support Obama during his campaign, but once the American people had there say I started to buy into the idea of a dramatic change.  A year into things and I see very much the status quo in Washington and to sum up in a few words, a president who now realizes dramatic change was to hard and to settle for subtle changes will be acceptable instead.

Not in the Mood

Posted in: Blogging, Frustrations, Life | Posted by: rcornish | Comments: 1 | Date: 28 January, 2010

I have not really been the mood to do much blogging the last few weeks and the number of posts shows it.  A couple of times I have been close to being motivated, but I really got the mojo on after having issues with the hosting platform and being shut down yesterday.  As ticked off at Lunar Pages as I was yesterday, I suppose I should really be thanking them for getting my groove back on and hence the very reason I am posting this tonight.

Observations 2010

Starting out the new year right.  My goal off the top of the bat is to post daily for the month of January.  That being said, my biggest first observation of the year is just how much of a cluster the holiday season between and around Christmas and New Years plays on blog readership.  I went from pushing close to two hundred daily readers in the first half of December to barely getting twenty some days in between the holidays.  Guess that says what most of you are doing at work, eh?  Just kidding.   In all seriousness I did not post as much during the that time either, but I am back on a roll now and so without further ado, some of the first of my observations for 2010!

Fast Food Diet

I caught a commercial sometime this weekend with Taco Bell lightly pushing the idea of eating light and making it a diet with some selection from their menu.  Not only is it something light, like their fresco menu, but specifically they are pushing it as a drive through and diet concept.  Apparently, just as Jared has done for Subway in the past, they have some lady who has lost fifty pounds and is the face of the ad-campaign.  That being said, I am a bit skeptical of the diet, as I am of several others with the possible exception of Subway.  After all, McDonald’s of all places promotes some version of adult happy meals as being light fair and even box it with a pedometer.  Some timely ads on their part and some timely advice on my part given the goals some of you have probably set.

Even Bits

Posted in: Observations | Posted by: rcornish | Comments: 0 | Date: 02 January, 2010

I am sorry, I could not resist the name of even bits after last weeks odd bits.  Nothing to worry about if you did not get it.  In fact, if you are concerned about people thinking you are are nerd, geek, or otherwise and you did not get this, then at least you do not qualify from a technology and computer standpoint to be a such.  Anyway, that being said, I am once again making notes as the week goes along given that I liked the way that worked last week for the observations post.  And indeed I had a couple of those today and hopefully will follow with a few more through the Christmas holiday.

… time passes …

With the holidays I did ad many to this, but it is now the New Year (and a good happy prosperous one to you) and I am getting back to the blog full force.  I have a few to add this and will probably send it on out shortly.
